Protection of Personal Data
We take a special care when handling personal details as well as protecting them. We abide by the valid legal regulations (law no. 101/2000 Coll. and related regulations) and our internal principles for protecting personal details.
INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
When providing our services, we are committed to making you, our clients, satisfied by tailoring each of our offers to your personalized needs and wishes. For this purpose, we use your personal data and process them in accordance with valid and effective legislation. While doing so, we pay meticulous attention to the protection of your personal data in order to prevent any unauthorized interference with your privacy. UNIQA hereby informs you about the manner and extent of the processing of personal data, including the extent of the rights that you, as the data subject, have in relation to the processing of your personal data.
1. WHO IS THE CONTROLLER OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

2. WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE PROCESS, IN WHAT EXTENT AND FOR WHAT PURPOSES?
We process only such personal data and in such an extent as to be able to provide you with our services, to comply with our legal obligations and to protect our legitimate interests. We collect personal data of our clients, including potential clients, who are interested in our services or who agreed to receive offers of our services. We process in particular the following categories of personal data: your identification and contact data, sociodemographic data (such as age or marital status), information about your use of our products and services and the performance of contracts (e.g. transaction data), location data, health information and other necessary data. We acquire the information either directly from you in the course of the conclusion and performance of a policy, or from other
persons and from publicly available sources. We may process your personal data:
2.1 Without your consent
(a) Processing in accordance with the fulfilment of a legal obligation We process personal data pursuant to the requirements imposed in particular by Act No. 277/2009 Coll., on Insurance, as amended, Act No. 89/2012 Coll.,
the Civil Code, as amended, Act No. 37/2004 Coll., on Insurance Contract and on Amendments to Related Acts, as originally filed, Act No. 253/2008 Coll., on Selected Measures against Legitimisation of Proceeds of Crime and Financing of Terrorism, as amended, and Act No. 164/2013 Coll., on International Cooperation in Tax Administration and on the Amendment of Certain Related Acts.
(b) Processing in accordance with the policy
We process personal data for the purposes of your policy. In this case, the disclosure of your personal data is entirely voluntary, yet necessary for the conclusion and administration of your policy.
(c) Processing in accordance with legitimate interests
We process your personal data in order to be able to inform you about news related to the products which you use and to offer you more services and products. Some personal data are processed for the purposes of crime prevention and detection, the defence of legal claims and transfer within the UNIQA Group for the purpose of further processing.
2.2 With your consent
(a) The processing of special categories of personal data for the purposes of the preparation of a policy In order to be able to offer you certain services and selected products (e.g. life insurance), it is necessary for us to know certain information about you which may be of the nature of a special category of personal data (formerly sensitive
data, e.g. health information or your dynamic biometric signature). For this purpose, we need your consent, yet given only once.
With your consent, we also process your personal data for the purposes of certain marketing operations, e.g. sending personalized offers of our services.
(c) Telephone calls
Your telephone calls may be recorded for quality and documentation purposes.
3. ARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED BY AUTOMATED MEANS?
With regard to the provision of our services certain data may be processed by automated means – by profiling. Profiling consists in an automated processing of personal data by using information systems with the aim of personalizing and enhancing the quality of our services. However, no decision is made purely by automated means, it is always people who decide and you have a right to give your opinion on the results of profiling.
4. WHO PROCESSES YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
Personal data are processed either directly by UNIQA or by selected processors that are also able to provide sufficient and trustworthy safeguards to ensure the protection of your personal data (e.g. IT services providers, assistant companies and other suppliers, insurance agents, reinsurers, other insurance companies and other subjects). Your personal data may be accessed by companies of the UNIQA Group, under certain circumstances, your personal data may be disclosed to government bodies (courts, the police, notaries, financial authorities, the Czech National Bank etc. under their legitimate authority), or we may disclose them directly to other subjects in the extent defined by a particular law.
5. HOW LONG DO WE PRESERVE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We preserve personal data only for the time period necessary to accomplish a particular purpose. When providing our services, we process your personal data for the duration of your policy; after the termination of the contractual relationship for the time period necessary and required by the legislation.
6. WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE WITH REGARD TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The right to withdraw your consent
If we process personal data with your consent, you can withdraw such consent at any time free of charge.
The right to obtain information on the processing and the right of access to your personal data
You have the right to obtain information whether or not we process personal data concerning
you, and if we do, you have the right of access to such personal data and to obtain more information on the processing. You also have the right to be provided with copies of the personal data processed.
The right to rectification
You have the right to obtain from us without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you.
The right to restriction of processing
In certain cases, you have the right to obtain from us restriction of the processing of your personal data.
The right to object
If you consider the processing of your personal data to be carried out contrary to the protection of your privacy or contrary to the legislation, you have the right to object to such processing of personal data. You can also object to automated decision-making.
The right to portability
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have those data transmitted to another controller directly by UNIQA if technically feasible.
The right to erasure
In certain cases defined by law, you have the right to obtain from us erasure of personal data concerning you as per your instruction.
The right to lodge a complaint
Should you have doubts as to the fulfilment of obligations in relation to the processing of personal data, you can lodge a complaint with UNIQA or with the Office for Personal Data Protection, having its registered address at Pplk.
